Building Women. Shaping Leaders. Changing Communities

ABOUT US

Sisters University is a leadership academy where young women discover what matters to them, learn to speak with conviction, and build a sisterhood they can count on. Our signature 10-week Leadership Academy brings young women together to explore who they are, what they want to pursue, and how they can use their gifts to serve others.

Each week connects leadership, entrepreneurship, academic excellence, or cultural enrichment to a decision a young woman can make in her own life. She might practice introducing herself to a mentor, build a plan for a challenging class, or share a business idea aloud for the first time. Along the way, she learns what it means to be a sister to someone else by listening closely, offering honest encouragement, and showing up when it counts.

MISSION

Sisters University empowers young women to lead with purpose and integrity, pursue academic excellence, and think entrepreneurially. Through mentorship, culturally relevant learning, and hands-on experiences, we help each young woman develop the confidence to use her voice and the discipline to follow through on what she believes.

VISION

We envision generations of young women who know their worth, shape decisions in their schools and communities, and open doors for those who follow. Our vision is a lasting sisterhood where a young woman who once looked to a mentor for guidance can one day offer that same guidance to the next Sister.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 10-Week Leadership Academy. Weekly sessions bring leadership, discipline, entrepreneurship, academic commitment, and cultural identity into focus. Participants set goals, practice new skills, and reflect on how they want to lead.

  • Mentorship & Sisterhood. Mentors offer guidance as participants navigate school, relationships, and future plans. Peers learn to hold one another accountable, celebrate progress, and ask for support when they need it.

  • Induction & Alumnae Network. Participants who complete the academy are formally inducted into Sisters University as lifelong members. Inducted Sisters stay connected through events, resources, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

  • Leadership Development & Life Skills. Participants practice speaking up in a group, making thoughtful decisions, managing their time and money, and handling difficult conversations with care.

  • Entrepreneurship & Career Exploration. Workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on activities introduce participants to career paths and the work of building a business. Young women can ask professionals how they got started and explore where their own interests might lead.

  • Community Engagement & Service. Participants learn to listen to people in their communities, recognize local needs, and work together to meet them. Service gives each Sister a chance to practice leadership in a way that matters to someone else.
